This rare release from the popular distillery showcases the oldest and best barrels aging in their warehouses, with 1995 marking only the fourth time an O.F.C. will be offered for sale to the public. The first releases came in 2016, when Buffalo Trace offered charities around the country rare O.F.C. vintages from 1980, 1982 and 1983, which were auctioned to raise almost $1.2 million for causes including cancer services, cystic fibrosis, leukemia and lymphoma, children’s rights, autism, military veterans, animal protection, arts foundations and many more.
The O.F.C. expressions take their name from the original name of the distillery, Old Fashioned Copper. The 25-year-old bourbon will come bottled in a crystal decanter with inlaid copper lettering nestled inside a wooden display case with a provenance card and a list of happenings from 1995 to put the age of this special expression in context. That year, Amazon sold their first book and Windows 95 had just hit home computers.
