Clynelish Distillery, near the town of Brora in the Scottish Highlands, was built in 1967 to replace the old Clynelish Distillery now called the Brora Distillery. The wealthy and controversial 1st Duke of Sutherland built the original distillery in 1819. The new distillery was built just across the road from the original distillery. Being three times lager than before, Clynelish created an exact replica of the stills that were in the original distillery to make sure the spirit was as close to the original spirit produced as possible. Diageo currently owns the Clynelish Distillery. Clynelish Distillery has three wash stills and three spirit stills that produce around 4,500,000 liters a year. House Style: Seaweed, spicy. Best with a roast-beef sandwich.
