Kilkerran 16 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a testament to traditional Campbeltown whisky-making. Produced by Glengyle Distillery, one of the few remaining in the region, this single malt captures the essence of the peninsula’s maritime influence. Matured in a combination of 96% ex-bourbon and 4% Marsala wine casks, this whisky offers a unique complexity and depth, making it the oldest release from the distillery to date. Without chill filtration or added coloring, Kilkerran 16 preserves the authentic character and rich history of Campbeltown malts.
TASTING NOTES
Palate: A silky, medium-weight viscosity with a touch of oiliness makes for a very pleasant mouthfeel. The palate transitions to more tropical fruit notes, including grapefruit, green banana, and lemon, complemented by a noticeable amount of brine.
Finish: The finish shifts towards savory and herbal notes, with lingering impressions of oak and baking spice. It closes with smoked bacon and campfire flavors, while faint but distinguishable fruit notes like grapefruit and lemon linger in the background.
