The Prime Barrel Selection #4. This particular barrel was hands down the winner amongst other barrels were picking from. This is a very bold, complex whiskey and we are thrilled to offer it to you. This pick has a good, strong nose. A bit hot, but expected at 131 Proof. Mashbill is very corn heavy, and you get that immediately on the nose. Furthermore, you’ll get cereal notes, burnt orange, spice, coriander, and even honey plus brown sugar.
The palate is distinct and flavorful. A full spectrum of baking spices in cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander on display here. Burnt orange spice is typical of Garrison whiskeys, and it’s very present in this offering as well. The finish is infinite. It’s strong but has a good character and a very memorable aftertaste. When we added a few drops of water, it opened up nicely and the hotness subsided. Would be a pleasure to drink on the rocks as well as neat for folks that enjoy high-proof expressions.
