Virgil kaine electric owl
The idea to collaborate first came about when Virgil Kaine electric owl owners Ryan Meany and David Szlam wanted to find an alternative to sherry barrels, and also to source barrels from inside the United States. Meany and Szlam then looked to Ryan Coker and their friends at Revelry Brewing. The barrels they settled on first held a pinot noir from the Willamette Valley in Oregon.

The barrels were then filled with Wild Farmhouse Ale made by Revelry Brewing and then were used to finish the Electric Owl Bourbon. Electric Owl represents a collaboration between two Charleston companies: Virgil Kaine Lowcountry Whiskey Company and Revelry Brewing Company. This limited release is 3,000 bottles.
