Color: Yellow honey gold
Nose: Beautifully soft nose with honey sweetness and Madagascan vanilla to the fore. Underneath comes caramelized apple crumble with blackberries, soft baking spices, and lovely wisps of fresh stoned fruits like peach and apricot. There is a smooth balance on the nose, as would be expected and desired in a marque of this age. Everything you expect and need from Macallan.
Palate: Light and delicate with a rich buttery creaminess followed by soft spice that builds and elegantly develops. Not as sweet as the nose suggests due to the drying nature of the spicy oak, but the crispness of the red apple and orange keeps everything vibrant. Slowly the spice diminishes to polished leather with a milk chocolate hint with a little meadow floral. Well balanced and velvet smooth.
Body: Medium
Finish: Long with a soft spice over a light but rich orange.
