Single Cask Nation is the only independent bottler of Scotch Whisky based here in the US. Owned and operated by Joshua Hatton and Jason Johnstone-Yellin, the aim is to uncover the finest and rarest single casks and then bottle them at full cask strength. Though the focus is on Scotch whiskies, Single Cask Nation also bottles wonderful bourbons, rye whiskies, Indian whiskies, and even cask-aged Mezcals from some of the most famous, well-known, and respected producers in the world.
Teaninich (tee-ni-nick) Distillery, located in the Northern Highlands, is owned by Diageo and known for using a distinct mashing technique, resulting in the ability to mash a wide array of barley varieties. Despite the distillery’s considerable size and quality of distillate, very little of its whisky is available as a stand-alone product.
This bottling, distilled September 2009, spent 11 years maturing in a 1st-fill bourbon hogshead. It was bottled at cask strength in October 2020 at 61% ABV.
